Ubuntu Rox!
First of all, sorry for not having blogged lately. I’ve been quite busy recently due to a good load of work & study. (alasan… ahaks)
d00d, I am now running Ubuntu Linux on my IBM Thinkpad. It is easy to use & r0x my life. Here’s the latest screenshot. Everything worked very well and I now have a Dapper Drake running. The most interesting things from my personal of view:
1. I dont have a single piece of hardware in my computer that doesn’t run out of the box with Ubuntu.
2. Hibernate works well which gave me quite a lot of trouble on Fedora.
3. no root?
4. the human theme is gorgeous. yay~
F: are u “buntu”?

welcome to wordpress and ubuntu
thanks azraai~
Ubuntu Edgy and Thinkpad R51e doesn’t work for me.
Booting without kernel parameter noapic causes my complete usb-hub including mouse to quit function after ca. 3 minutes.
ACPI isn’t working from the very beginning on. Therefore maybe Hibernation isn’t working. During boot process I get these errors without the noapic option:
…
ACPI Error (evgpe-0711): No handler or method for GPE[16], disabling event [20060707]
…
…
…
I already checked the DSDT but it’s all ok.
Before Ubuntu Edgy I had FC5 installed on this notebook. Similiar problems…
Any Suggestions?
Maybe you can help me with these???
David
Hi David,
I upgraded dapper to edgy without a problem. Perhaps you might try to install dapper first, then upgrade it to edgy. Hope it works for you.u
