If you migrate from linux based operating system to Mac OS X (which is also unix based os), you’ll be missed your root account. It is because “root” user is disabled by default because it’s so special. But you can enable your “root” account in Mac OS X.

1. Download Huawei USB Driver.

2. Make sure your huawei not connected with your machine. Install driver MacDriver(2.7)-intel.pkg
3. Plug-in your huawei USB.

I just bought Huawei E169 to replace my Huawei E220. It doesn’t work out of the box but I able to get it to work on ubuntu 8.10 with a little tweak. Photo above shows how it looks like with my Thinkpad X61.
