Greetings from Kota Kinabalu!

I am now in Kota Kinabalu. Last saturday I was in Johor Bahru, attended #barcampjb. And it was aaaawesome. These are some photos I took during the event.

More photos in myflickr. I also giving a session on facebook apps development. Thanks to Amran for his intro on facebook dev. We’re not prepared because we didn’t plan to present. This is one of the advantages of “unconference” concept. It is quite a much flexible and free structured where anybody can announce his session on the notice board. The speakers are free to choose the subject of their expertise to speak on. Thanks for those who attended our session.

Barcamp comes to the Johor Baru city 6th – 7th December 2008. BarcampJB is an ad-hoc unconference and it is part of the Barcamp Malaysia movement. It is an intense community event with discussions, demos and interaction from attendees. Anyone with something to contribute or with the desire to learn is welcome and invited to participate.

I am in Malacca to attend VeryImportantProgrammer Contest. VIP is a PHP Programming Competition brought to you by K-Ekonomi Malacca and Art In Software Sdn. Bhd.

This event has good opportunity to expose programming culture to everyone that involved. The event will be held on 23rd – 24th August 2008. On 23rd (Sat), interested talks will be given related to Information Technology starting from 11 a.m till 4.30 p.m.

I will be speaking about “How to take online applications, offline” at this event and also one of judges for the programming contest. If you are coming to this event, don’t forget to say Hi to me.

London’s Telegraph newspaper reports that some of the fireworks during Beijing Olympic 2008 opening ceremony were actually computer generated. It happens because of fears over live filming, it has emerged.

I hope they will not fake their show at PICC as they will perform this coming saturday night. Ouch!

The most watched event of 2007 is back. The Ministry of Tourism will again host the Malaysia International Fireworks Competition in Putrajaya. Renowned world-class Fireworks Teams from around the world will compete for the ‘Golden Merdeka Trophy’. The Ministry has announced that there will not be any Tickets sold this year at the Event. The event is Free for All! Speakers will be installed at the public viewing locations, enabling the spectators to enjoy the ‘Musical Firework Displays’. Entrance to PICC is Free.

Finally arrived in KL at 10.30AM today. I attended the 2nd Sabahan Bloggers Gathering 2008 last night.

The story are being posted by bloggers who are attended this excellent event. Some of them are, Gaman, Perry, Fara, Olie, Edgar, Osindak, Amie, Jacq, Chuky and more on facebook. Thumbs up to the organizers. It was a successful event for the sabahan community.

The Sabahan Bloggers Gathering is an annual gathering event for Sabahan and non-Sabahan blog writers. This event is targeted to promote Sabah on the blogosphere.
