This method looks at the current view and its subview hierarchy for the text field that is currently the first responder. If it finds one, it asks that text field to resign as first responder. If the force parameter is set to YES, the text field is never even asked; it is forced to resign.

Go to Product -> Edit Scheme
Choose Run YourAppName.app
Add -com.apple.CoreData.SQLDebug 1 to the Arguments Passed On Launch panel

Here is code snippet to parse a XML string to Core Data NSDate.

Burning Mac OS X 10.7 Lion Bootable Disc

These instructions are born from the 10.7 developer preview but should remain identical come time for the July public release:

Purchase and download Lion from the Mac App Store on any Lion compatible Mac.
Right click on “Mac OS X Lion” installer and choose the option to “Show Package Contents.”
Find and open the “SharedSupport” folder and locate a disc image file called “InstallESD.dmg”
Copy “InstallESD.dmg” to another folder like the Desktop.
Now launch Disk Utility (/Applications/Utilities/), pop in a blank DVD, select the “InstallESD.DMG” file, and click on “Burn”

After your disk is done burning, you’ll be able to boot from it with any Lion compatible Mac by holding down C during boot up.

Installing OAuth extension in XAMPP for Mac OS X

Installing via PECL didn’t really work out for me. So, here is what I did:

Install Xcode if you don’t have it

Download & install XAMPP for Mac developer package

You will need the PHP header files. Create a symlink:
ln -s /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/lib /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/include

Download the module here: http://pecl.php.net/get/oauth

Unpack

Run phpize:
sudo /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/bin/phpize

Configure with the following command:
sudo MACOSX_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET=10.6 CFLAGS='-O3 -fno-common -arch i386 -arch x86_64' LDFLAGS='-O3 -arch i386 -arch x86_64' CXXFLAGS='-O3 -fno-common -arch i386 -arch x86_64' ./configure --with-php-config=/Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/bin/php-config

Run sudo make

Copy the module to your extension directory
sudo cp modules/oauth.so /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/lib/php/php-5.3.1/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20090626/

Enable the module by adding this to your php.ini:
extension=oauth.so

Restart apache and run phpinfo() to see if it’s working

OSX : Installing MongoDB and the PHP MongoDB driver.

1) Grab the latest 64-bit version for OSX from MongoDB website.

2) Untar the file
tar -zxvf mongodb-osx-x86_64-1.6.5.tgz

3) I use XAMPP for OS X, need to create a location for it to store databases.
sudo mkdir -p /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/var/mongodb
sudo cp -r bin/* /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/bin/

4) Create configuration file, name it mongodb.conf and put it at /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/var/mongodb.
# Store data alongside MongoDB instead of the default, /data/db/ dbpath = /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/var/mongodb

# Only accept local connections bind_ip = 127.0.0.1

5) Run MongoDB deamon with this command
sudo /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/bin/mongod --config=/Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/var/mongodb/mongodb.conf

6) Test if it’s running http://localhost:28017.

7) To install Mongo PHP driver, compile the driver from the latest source on GitHub.
tar zxvf mongodb-mongodb-php-driver-.tar.gz cd mongodb-mongodb-php-driver- sudo /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/bin/phpize ./configure sudo make install

8 ) Copy compiled module to PHP extension directory.
/Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/bin/php -i | grep extension_dir cp modules/mongo.so /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/lib/php/php-5.3.1/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20090626

9) Load the extension on PHP startup, add a line to php.ini:
extension=mongo.so

10) And you are good to start Mongo! Cheers.

Google Gears For Firefox 3.5

For Windows and Linux versions, check out these custom extension builds from Gears Google Group. If you are Mac OS X users you can get it on Google Code.

I’ve tested the Mac version, so far everthing’s working as expected. I believe official builds by Google will be coming very soon if you’re happy to wait.

Google Chrome For Linux & Mac Developer Release

Google Chrome for Linux & Mac is finally here. However it’s just a developer release which is lack of features.

But if you would like to try it, download this release.

PLEASE NOTE: Google Chrome for Mac OS X Developer Release is a very early release version and does not yet have some of the functionality that a full general release version would have. Many of the features still under development affect the privacy behavior of Google Chrome for Mac OS X. The issues marked in bold text below will be resolved prior to releasing Google Chrome for Mac OS X to the beta channel for broader consumer use.
