For Windows and Linux versions, check out these custom extension builds from Gears Google Group. If you are Mac OS X users you can get it on Google Code.

I’ve tested the Mac version, so far everthing’s working as expected. I believe official builds by Google will be coming very soon if you’re happy to wait.

Google Chrome for Linux & Mac is finally here. However it’s just a developer release which is lack of features.

But if you would like to try it, download this release.

PLEASE NOTE: Google Chrome for Mac OS X Developer Release is a very early release version and does not yet have some of the functionality that a full general release version would have. Many of the features still under development affect the privacy behavior of Google Chrome for Mac OS X. The issues marked in bold text below will be resolved prior to releasing Google Chrome for Mac OS X to the beta channel for broader consumer use.

Hey! Not that “tomboy”. Errrr… Tomboy is a famous desktop note-taking application for Linux. It’s very useful application on your desktop. Tomboy doesn’t support integration with Google Notebook yet. This is a how to install tomboy2googlenotebook addins in ubuntu/debian.

1. You’ll need subversion client and mono c# compiler. In terminal, type
sudo apt-get install subversion mono-gmcs

2. Addin’s folder & checkout tomboy2googlenotebook source code
cd ~/.tomboy/addins
svn checkout http://tomboy2googlenotebook.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ .

3. Go to your google notebook. Clicking on Sharing Options at the top right, and selecting “Yes” to “Publish this Notebook”. Look for a 20 digit number in your URL. That’s your user id. Memorize it or copy and paste it somewhere.

4. Create a gconf file
sudo touch /apps/tomboy/google_notebook_<your_user_id>

5. Run make
make

6. And you’re almost done.
sudo cp GoogleNoteBookSync.dll /usr/lib/tomboy/addins

7. Restart tomboy, activate Google Notebook addins. And yeah! You can now sync you google notebook with tomboy with “Tools > Sync With Google Notebook”.

Adsense For Feeds is a program that display ads in Feedburner feeds. The new option Adsense Feeds is available in your adsense account. You can setup new ads and choose if you want image ads, its frequency, the position, the colors or even a channel to track ads performance.

It’s hard to find all the unread messages in Gmail’s inbox when they’re not in the first page of messages. While we wait for Google to add support for buttoned filters or at least a built-in “unread” shortcut, currently the only way to view all the unread messages in inbox is to search for “in:unread“.

Google Gears is a small application designed to help you use Google services offline. The installation seemed to work successful and the extension also is listed in the addons, but google gears setting page does not appear. Maybe you’re facing the same problem, here’s the solution.

If you’re running Firefox (For some reasons they called it Iceweasel in Debian) on a linux platform, google gears requires glibc 2.3.5 or higher and libstdc++5. APT-Get it!

sudo apt-get install libc6 libstdc++5

That’s it. Happy gearing!

Debian change Firefox to Iceweasel. Since Google’s toolbar does not install as the installer does not recognize Iceweasel as Firefox. To get full Google Toolbar support:

1. in the navigation: about: config
2. filter for : general.useragent.extra.firefox
3. change Iceweasel/2.0.0.4 To Firefox/2.0.0.4

Go back to Google Toolbar’s website, and install.

Yes! You can! Lets say your email address is username@gmail.com. You can reformat it by putting dots, for example u.s.er.name@gmail.com.

Google’s help centre explain:

Because Gmail doesn’t recognize dots as characters within usernames, adding or removing dots from a Gmail address won’t change the actual destination address. Messages sent to yourusername@gmail.com and y.o.u.r.u.s.e.r.n.a.m.e@gmail.com are all delivered to your Inbox, and only yours.
